Want to Intern at a TV station?

WAVY-TV intern applications (links in list below) for the Summer 2024 are open until March 18, 2024.  

 

We are primarily looking for rising students interested in working in the following areas: 
 

  • broadcast journalism

  • TV studio production

  • lifestyle TV 

  • sales and marketing 

  • sports broadcasting

  • digital journalism

  • graphics design

  • videography and video editing 

  • commercial production

  • and broadcast engineering
    communications. 

 

WAVY interns are placed in specific departments of the television station, but they have the chance to shadow/work in all departments.  You are encouraged to apply to any department! Sometimes a review of qualifications can prompt a redirect to another department.

 

WAVY internships are unpaid & students must register for COMM/THEA 368. Interns must be available to work on-site at the station 12-15 hours per week.

City of Norfolk Executive internship program

SUMMER 2024


The City of Norfolk Executive Internship is a 10-week program that provides work-based learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students with a desire to work in local government.

​

Paid at $17/hr for 40 hours a week, students will gain practical work experience and insight into the functions, operations, and public policies of municipal government. All while making important contributions to the City and impact the
community through meaningful hands-on work assignments and projects.
